Aidan successfully completed his degree in 2001, along with receiving awards from the Irish Concrete Society – Final Year Project Award and The ESBI Eddie Nolan Award in his final year.
He joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers as a Graduate Engineer in 2001. Since then he has developed a wide range of structural and project management experience on buildings and civil engineering works. Aidan is a Chartered Engineer with both the Institution of Engineers of Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Aidan was subsequently appointed Director in 2017
Aidan has worked on a number of projects, but some of Aidan’s high profile projects include Beacon South Quarter (project value €450million), which included a three storey basement and a 18 storey high residential tower, the Refurbishment of the Historic National Gallery Building, the refurbishment/conservation of the famous Tea Rooms in People’s Park in Dun Laoghaire, Kildare County Council Civic Offices and Limerick Main Drainage processing facility structural. In 2013 Aidan received from the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland the Structural Innovation Award for the design of NUI-Maynooth John Paul II Library Extension and Refurbishment.
Aidan has a keen interest in building conservation and completed a Postgrad Diploma in Applied Building Repair & Conservation in Trinity College in 2011.
Aidan leads a healthy lifestyle, with a balanced combination of work and play. He has a keen interest in all sports, but being from the Kingdom, one sport dominates his interest from all the others.
