PUNCH completed our first project with Analog Devices in 1983 and since then have built a strong relationship with our client during which time the campus has expanded to over 11ha in size. PUNCH Consulting Engineers has worked with Analog Devices on over 300 individual projects ranging in size, scope and value. This work has included the design of their main manufacturing facilities, ancillary office buildings and warehouses, and tool installation projects.

Analog Devices is one of the longest-standing semi-conductor companies in the world with manufacturing plants located worldwide. The company’s largest European manufacturing facility is located in Limerick, Ireland. 

Our most recent major project, the IPD Cleanroom Expansion was completed in 2017. This consisted of the construction of a 6,000m² two storey over basement extension to the existing manufacturing building, with ground floor cleanroom and basement & mezzanine level plant areas. Site development works to support the new cleanroom consisted of a 2,000m² extension of the central utilities building, a 7m deep 200m long cut and cover services tunnel, new scrubber platforms, generator rooms and re-organisation of the site layout.

Some particular achievements in our completed projects include the construction of a 12,000m² basement sub-fabrication, partially in rock, within an existing operational facility with a 12,000m² cleanroom floor space and air handling mezzanine plant space suspended above and the development of a 11,500m² LEED Platinum European R&D Centre Building. Issues of buildable solutions within a noise, dust and vibration sensitive environment have been addressed regularly in our designs with this client and PUNCH strive to always produce the most innovative and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
