PUNCH Consulting Engineers is the business name of Michael Punch and Partners Limited and is one of Ireland’s leading and most experienced civil & structural engineering consultancies.

The partnership was established by the well-known Irish engineer Michael Punch in 1973 to provide a wide-ranging consultancy service in civil & structural engineering. In this time it has grown to be one of the largest Irish-owned consultancies, with a diverse client base across an increasingly broad range of sectors of the industry.

Formed in Limerick originally, the company opened an office in Dublin soon after, followed by another office in Cork. Further geographic expansion took place in 2014, when we opened an office in Glasgow having acquired a local well-established practice there. In 2015, we opened a new office in Galway to further improve our regional coverage within Ireland.

Our company ethos remains true to the original ethos of our founder, Michael Punch – that is, to provide our clients with an economic solution in an efficient manner, while maintaining the highest levels of quality in both our service and in our finished product.

Our Quality Assurance

At PUNCH Consulting Engineers, we have always placed quality of service at the heart of our business model. This has been officially recognised by our certification as an ISO 9001 accredited company since 1997. In 2006, we also achieved the Environmental Standard ISO 14001, which shows our commitment to all that is best in sustainable business practices, and the practical application of sustainability to our projects. PUNCH is also ISO 45001 certified. We recognise the importance of Occupational Health and Safety by integrating our OHS into our core business processes. As part of our staff orientation employees are provided with safety training and given the opportunity to gain qualifications in first aid annually.

As an ISO accredited firm, our quality systems are documented in a series of carefully tailored process manuals. These process manuals cover bid management, document control, task definition, support systems, training, management systems, administration, design, deliverables, contract administration and client feedback. By standardising and documenting our procedures, rigorously implementing them, and maintaining our ISO certification, we ensure that the quality of our services is maintained at a consistently high level right across the organisation.
