Niamh Cronin
Director • Operations - Civils
Niamh joined PUNCH in 2003 as a Graduate Engineer. She was quickly promoted through the business to the role of Senior Engineer, where she contributed positively to the management of the company and successfully led many of our high-profile projects. In 2011 Niamh left for Australia where she lived and worked for six years as a Principal Civil Engineer in Perth. In 2017 Niamh relocated to Singapore and had a key role in the establishment of the South East Asia Region office for her Australian company. In the summer of 2020 Niamh and her family decided to move back to Ireland and after a 9-year absence returned to PUNCH as a Technical Director and became a Director of PUNCH in 2024.
Niamh is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland (CEng FIEI). She has first class honors degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University College Cork and completed a post graduate diploma in Contract Law and Contract Administration in Trinity College Dublin. She has a keen interest and much expertise in the administration and management of projects.
Niamh’s specific focus is to develop and lead our Civil Engineering focused service offering. Her technical experience includes projects in civil infrastructure, healthcare, residential, commercial, industrial, refurbishment and high-rise urban developments. She has been involved in the delivery of many of our large Projects including Beacon South Quarter in Dublin and more recently the Cork City Docklands Masterplan, Europe’s largest urban regeneration project.
Outside of work Niamh is kept busy with her young family. Niamh’s personal interests include reading, music, travel and sports, including coaching her daughter’s football team.
