Having graduated from UCD in 1994, Ronan joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers in their Limerick office as a graduate engineer. Following a spell in Australia in 2000/2001, where he worked with Patterson Britton & Partners Pty in Sydney as a marine structural engineer, Ronan re-joined PUNCH in the Dublin office. He was promoted to a Director in 2007. In 2015, Ronan relocated to the west of Ireland and founded the PUNCH Galway office, which he now runs.
Having started his career as a civil engineer, and then moving into structures, Ronan has an excellent knowledge of both areas of engineering. He has a particular interest in healthcare projects, having been involved in a number of major hospital and medical facilities in his career. Examples include Beacon Hospital Sandyford, and the National Forensic Mental Health Facility in Portrane, Co.Dublin. Other significant projects include Crown Square Galway, the National Gallery Historic Wings Refurbishment, Roscommon County Council Offices, Ferrybank Shopping Centre, NUIG Student Accommodation Phases 1 & 2, and Social Housing PPP Bundle 3.
Ronan is the HR and Training Director for PUNCH. He is responsible for the company CPD system, which is accredited by Engineers Ireland.
