Structural Precast Engineer

PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Structural Precast Engineer to work from one of our UK offices (Glasgow/Macclesfield).

Job Description:

As a structural precast engineer, you will be working with senior colleagues on the delivery of major structural projects involving precast concrete design and detailing. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of your project, with full support from other members of the  team. Your work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures.

Candidate Specification:

  • Honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience in engineering consultancy with at least 1 years’ experience in the design of precast concrete elements, ideally with a precast concrete manufacturer
  • Please state level of written and spoken English
  • Experienced in the use of Tekla Structures.
  • A sound understanding of engineering principles and a strong technical focus, ability to apply engineering principles and codes of practice to solve technical problems.
  • Excellent conceptual design abilities to provide robust and economical solutions.
  • Significant base of IT skills including;
    • Tekla Structural Designer
    • REVIT & AutoCAD
    • Structural design software such as ROBOT, ETABS, SCIA, STRAP, TEDDS, etc.
    • Word, Excel, Power Point,
  • The ability to use new design software to benefit project work.
  • Plan and manage human and material resources for your projects.
  • The ability to work closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • A positive, proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
  • Business Effectiveness – lead by example.
  • Commitment to CPD and competence.
