Tim Murnane
Managing Director
Tim Murnane joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers as a Design Engineer in 2001. He was promoted to the role of Regional Director in 2005. In 2009 Tim set up Murnane & Partners Consulting Engineers and following a strategic merger between Murnane and Partners and PUNCH in 2014, Tim became a Director of PUNCH Consulting Engineers. He subsequently became Managing Director in 2017.
Tim graduated from Queens University Belfast with a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering. He then moved to London where he worked for The Ove Arup Partnership on the design of a range of heavy Civil Engineering railway structures in South East Asia as well as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in the UK. Tim also worked on site in London for contractor the Kier Group as part of his training programme with the Institution of Civil Engineers UK.
On returning to Ireland, he joined PUNCH Consulting Engineers and worked on a number of the most prestigious projects in the country, which included large scale multi use developments, public sector projects and motorway bridges.
In 2009 Tim set up Murnane and Partners Consulting Engineers which grew steadily despite the economic recession at the time. This experience of growing a new business in such an economic climate honed Tim’s business skills considerably which are now invaluable within the PUNCH organisation.
Tim is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland (CEng FIEI) and a Fellow of The Institution of Civil Engineers UK (CEng FICE). He is also Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (FConsEI) where he serves on the Executive Board as 1st Vice President.
Outside of work, Tim’s main passions in life are his family and the GAA. He is an underage coach with Cuala GAA Club and he gets immense enjoyment from helping children/teenagers develop a love of Gaelic Games.
He is very proud of his West Cork roots and some even claim that he is a rather “biased” Cork GAA supporter.
