PUNCH Consulting Engineers was established by the well-known Irish engineer Michael Punch in 1973 to provide a wide-ranging consultancy service in civil & structural engineering. It has grown to be one of the largest Irish-owned consultancies with a diverse client base across an increasingly broad range of industry sectors.
Formed in Limerick originally, we now have 5 offices located across Ireland and Scotland. We have successfully delivered individual projects in value up to €450M, with projects successfully delivered in Ireland, the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
This steady growth has given PUNCH the scale and resources to deliver large and complex projects, both nationally and overseas.

Our experience is widely evident from the substantial and varied portfolio of projects we have amassed over the years. The energies of holy men and women and not so holy men and women, families, artists, architects, carpenters, masons, quarrymen, plasterers, gardeners and so-called ordinary people are encapsulated in the spirit and style of our protected structures.
PUNCH Consulting Engineers have achieved certification from the National Standards Authority Ireland (NSAI) to the current Building Information Modelling (BIM) international standards ISO 19650-1:2018 and ISO 19650-2:2018. This is one of the highest construction industry levels of BIM certification that can be achieved.
We have been carrying out the role of Assigned Certifier for projects since the new Building Control (Amendment) Regulations (S.I. No. 9 of 2014) came into force in 2014, and since that time our dedicated team have gained extensive experience and expertise in this service area on a wide variety of projects in terms of sectors and scale.
PUNCH has provided services as Project Supervisor since the enactment of the initial legislation in 1995. We offer the service across the full spectrum of projects.
