PUNCH was engaged by the RDS to provide civil, structural and traffic engineering services for the RDS Anglesea Stand Redevelopment.
The proposed development consists of the demolition of the existing 5,743 capacity Anglesea Stand, with the construction of a new 6,775-capacity stand including spectator amenities.
The proposal comprises a new 3-level grandstand with a connected 2-storey hospitality/services building (“The Pocket” building) together with a club shop, ancillary buildings and services.
The new stand has been designed to accommodate a range of activities such as the annual Dublin Horse Show, rugby matches, sporting activities, music concerts and corporate events.
As part of our services, PUNCH carried out a Stage 2 Flood Risk Assessment for the proposed development. Sustainable drainage systems were incorporated into the design, which include rainwater harvesting, a green blue roof, and attenuation systems.
Planning permission for the development was granted in August 2023. The project is currently in early construction stage.
