Our PUNCH Cork office was delighted to attend the Engineers Ireland Cork Region dinner last Friday night along with some fellow industry guests.
It was refreshing to hear An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who give the key note speech, speaking about the immense contribution of the engineering profession to society and the reliance that will be placed on Engineers over the coming years to deliver the governments ambitious capital spending programme, especially in the delivery of ambitious housing targets and all associated critical enabling infrastructure.
The commitment given in relation to a renewed focus on delivery will hopefully ensure a consistent pipeline of work for all in our profession and provide exciting opportunities for those who choose engineering as their chosen career. At PUNCH, we understand the value of education. That’s why we support our staff who wish to undertake further education and training. We encourage staff members to maintain their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) accreditations with Engineers Ireland. We also continue to offer training in sustainable design and construction through seminars, in-house lectures, and external training programmes. We promote the achievement of professional titles with institutions such as Engineers Ireland, the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland, the Institute of Structural Engineers, and the Institute of Civil Engineers.
