Fulltime, Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 remote days

Location: Options of Limerick, Dublin, Cork

The Opportunity

PUNCH Consulting Engineers has an exciting new opportunity for a HR Administrator to join our HR team. The HR Administrator will provide administrative support across the HR function.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely HR administration across the entire employee lifecycle. This position is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented administrator with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources within the engineering and construction sector.

The role will also support recruitment and onboarding activities, helping to deliver a positive experience for candidates, employees, and hiring managers.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee and candidate records within the HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Respond to routine HR queries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support general HR administration, including preparing employee letters, maintaining electronic personnel files, data entry, and policy administration.
  • Ensure all HR processes are handled in line with company procedures and Irish employment requirements.
  • Update HR reports and records as required.
  • Support the recruitment and selection process by screening applications and coordinating communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, ensuring all required documentation is completed and processed in a timely manner.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Education – Level 6 qualification in Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Experience –Previous administrative experience is essential; experience in an HR or recruitment environment is desirable.
  • Communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Technical Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using HR systems or applicant tracking systems (ATS) would be advantageous.
  • Organisational Skills – Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Attributes – A proactive, flexible, and positive approach, with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to delivering excellent service.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or currently working towards same.
  • Previous experience in administration in a HR department.

Working Hours

A typical working week is 35 hours.
