Bolton Quarry

PUNCH Consulting Engineers were appointed to provide the engineering input into a substitute consent planning application for Bolton Quarry in Bridgetown Co. Clare. PUNCH conducted a hydrological assessment, estimated quarry yields and prepared documentation to accompany the substitute Consent Application.

3d Ground models of the previous, current and future quarry were generated in a GIS environment and these were used to estimate future yields of the quarry. The ground models were also used to plan a phasing of the quarry to enable stockpiling of finished product and waste material in a manner that would not restrict quarrying activates. As part of this exercise, sediment ponds were designed to cater for any wastewater and these sediment ponds were also incorporated into the phasing of the quarry.

PUNCH were responsible for all planning drawings for the application.
