Killarney Outdoor Dining

The new outdoor dining venue in Killarney is a valuable addition for both residents and visitors alike. The initiative aimed to enhance outdoor dining spaces, partially in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project was opened for public consultation in July 2021, and in September of the same year, councillors from the Killarney Municipal District approved the plans for the outdoor dining area at Kenmare Place. PUNCH was chosen to handle the detailed design and tender documentation.

Construction commenced in May 2022, carried out by Daniel Canty Construction, and the venue was completed and ready for use by October 2022. Of the available seating, 50% is reserved for private use by local businesses, who must obtain a license to use this space, while the remaining seating is accessible to the public.
