This project encompassed the installation of six solar carports along with supporting ancillary infrastructure to enable to offer sustainable EV charging on site. These solar carports feature a total of 490 photovoltaic panels, creating a 235 kWp array.

PUNCH provided the structural design for the cantilevered steel canopies as well as the foundations for the solar carports and the inverter building on site. PUNCH also managed the necessary site investigation on behalf of the client and delivered detailed drawings and models for construction. The canopy designs incorporated portalised tapered steel elements with integrated foundations, promoting an efficient structure and minimising embodied carbon.

PUNCH conducted a carbon assessment of the panel installation in accordance with IS EN 15978 to evaluate the embodied carbon from cradle-to-gate. This assessment analysed the embodied carbon from the steel and concrete components, calculated the avoided emissions from green electricity generation, and determined the carbon payback for the installation for the client.
