Seabreeze Askeaton

PUNCH provided planning engineering services for this proposed windfarm development. The Askeaton development entails the construction of 10 wind turbines located in Morgans North, Askeaton, Co. Limerick. Traffic and Transport Engineering was conducted by PUNCH, considering that the turbine components and machinery would be transported to the site via local tertiary roads. Given that some component parts of the turbine measured nearly 80 meters, PUNCH was asked to complete a SWEPT Path Analysis to identify the most efficient delivery and access route.

To ensure the road could handle the traffic loads, resurfacing work was recommended. Several traffic control measures were necessary during this process, with PUNCH recommending that the works be completed over two distinct phases.
