PUNCH was appointed as Civil and Structural Engineering consultants acting on behalf of the HSE for the construction of a new 50 Bed CNU in Nenagh Co Tipperary. The unit was constructed on a 2.06ha greenfield site, directly adjacent to the Nenagh Hospital Campus.
The new development is a modern community nursing unit, built to the highest current standards and meets the high expectations of healthcare for public residential services. It is a two-storey building (4,466 m2) with bedrooms over two floors and associated support facilities, constructed around a central courtyard and with additional support blocks to the east.
The construction is precast hollowcore floor and roof slabs on loadbearing blockwork, with long span opes supported by concrete beams and columns.
