The project included the construction of 2 number grain storage silos with a capacity of 6,000 tonnes each. The works included:
Construction of 1.0m deep reinforced superstructure concrete plinths
- Installation of conveyors to allow infeed of grain product from ships berthed at the quayside to the grain silos
- Installation of 1 number grain bulk reception unit
- Construction of 1 Number braced steel frame cladded grain removal building to facilitate the loading of grain into articulated trucks for road transport
- Installation of conveyors to achieve outfeed of grain product from the grain storage silos to the grain removal building
PUNCH H&S have been involved in all stages of the design and construction, ensuring adequate communication is taking place between all of the interested parties.
At PUNCH, we understand the value of education. That’s why we support our staff who wish to undertake further education and training. We encourage staff members to maintain their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) accreditations with Engineers Ireland. We also continue to offer training in sustainable design and construction through seminars, in-house lectures, and external training programmes. We promote the achievement of professional titles with institutions such as Engineers Ireland, the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland, the Institute of Structural Engineers, and the Institute of Civil Engineers.
