Analog Devices Pilot Line Expansion

This project consisted of the construction of a new 2,000m2 cleanroom development on an existing site occupied by Analog Devices in the Raheen Business Park in Co. Limerick.

The project was carried out in 2 phases. Phase 1 involved the demolition of an existing office block on the site and diversion of the site services through an enabling works contract. Phase 2 consisted of the main infrastructural development including construction of a two-storey over basement extension to the existing building, a scrubber deck extension and the reorganisation of the site layout.

The Central Utilities Building Extension features a reinforced concrete frame resting on pad foundations, complemented by masonry infill. As the development connects with existing structures and tunnels in several locations, it necessitated careful attention to the operational needs of the current facility during the design phase. Additionally, the FM Global design standards required thorough consideration throughout the design process.

For this project, both the building and civil infrastructure were modelled using Autodesk REVIT. This approach enabled integration with the mechanical and electrical services model during the design stage, promoting enhanced coordination and collaboration among the various disciplines in the pre-construction stages.
