The Analog Devices Production Ramp project consisted of a major investment at the semi-conductor facility to increase production and provide security of semiconductor supply for the EU market under the European Important Project of Common European Interest (IPECI) initiative.
The work packages were split into five individual projects involving the fit-out of 1500m2 of new purpose-built cleanroom space to ISO 4 and ISO 5 standard, re-configuration of internal offices to provide a further 400m2 of cleanroom area, a new gowning area, upgrades to the site utilities infrastructure and the installation of new production tools throughout the facility.
Significant structural modifications were necessary for the existing buildings, which involved lowering the current ground floor, creating large openings of up to 8m² within the existing structural floor plates, and implementing new steel utility support structures at the roof level.
To minimise coordination issues on-site and ensure timely project delivery in line with the client’s programme, the design was fully modelled and coordinated using a 3D REVIT model. The entire project was completed within an accelerated 12-month timeframe while operating within a fully functional manufacturing plant.
