PUNCH Consulting Engineers provided Civil and Structural engineering services to Syntex and Roche Ireland Limited for over 30 years. The Irish manufacturing facility was established in 1974 as Syntex Ireland on 88 hectares of land overlooking the Fergus River in Clarecastle, Co Clare.
Our structural services have included new process, office and warehouse buildings and alterations of existing structures, particularly process buildings. Our civils work has included the upgrading of effluent drainage networks and existing waste water treatment lagoons to comply with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In addition, PUNCH has designed large capacity effluent storage tanks and structural designs and assessments to cater for installation of reactors, centrifuges, pressure vessels and other process equipment. We have also been involved in the more specialised aspects of industrial project such as acid resistant tiling of main process building and the design of a new 30 metre high multi flue chimney.
