Ballyvatta Solar Farm

PUNCH provided planning stage engineering services for this substation including Site Specific Flood Risk Assessment, Outline Construction Environmental Management Plan and Outline Construction Stage Traffic Management Plan.

The proposed development in Ballyvatta, Co. Cork, involves constructing a new 110kV substation on a 5.35-hectare greenfield site currently used for agriculture.

The substation will occupy approximately 0.8692 hectares, while the grid connection route is 1.09 km long. An access road will be built along the eastern boundary of the existing 220kV substation for deliveries and maintenance. The grid connection will follow this access road, crossing under the existing road to connect to the existing 220kV substation.
