PUNCH was appointed by Cork County Council to carry out a review of the existing Upper Cloghroe GWS network and to design required upgrade works to ensure a reliable and efficient source of water for the scheme members.
The project involved the construction of approximately 800m of new watermain pipework, associated valves, in-line booster pump and approximately 30 domestic connections along its length. The works included:
- Coordinating pressure tests and third party surveys
- Modelling of existing network and proposed design solution
- Preparation of detailed drawings and specifications
- Selection of in-line booster pump including all ancillary items associated with this.
The design was undertaken in accordance with the Irish Water Code of Practice for Water Supply and all construction works were undertaken in accordance with Irish Water Standard Details for Water Supply.
