The former Findlater House office block on O’Connell Street has been converted into a 198-bedroom Holiday Inn Express Hotel.
The works include the complete soft strip of the building, removal of plantrooms, removal of the existing façade, the reconfiguration of the internal cores and construction of one additional floor using a lightweight Metsec Structure. The new façade consists of granite cladding and aluminium curtain walling with a feature 7.5m L shaped tower on the corner of O’Connell and Cathal Brugha Street.
PUNCH H&S were involved in all stages of the design and construction, ensuring adequate communication took place between all of the interested parties.
