Project Description

PUNCH has been selected by Limerick City & County Council to design the TUS Moylish to City Centre Active Travel Scheme. This initiative aims to create dedicated cycling facilities from TUS Moylish to the city centre, utilizing Cratloe Road, Sexton Street, and Bellfield Gardens. The total length of the scheme spans approximately 1.7 km along a designated primary route for both cyclists and buses in the city centre.

All designs adhere to the Cycle Design Manual, the Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets, as well as the National Transport Authority Project Approval Guidelines, and have received approval at all necessary project hold stages.

Additionally, the project features an updated Safe Routes to School design for Gaelscoil Sairseal, alongside signal control design updates for several junctions, including Hassetts Cross near Thomond Park.

PUNCH has been tasked with delivering this Band 3 project through NTA Phases 5-7. To date, the following milestones have been achieved:

– Detailed Design

– Preparation of Tender Documentation

– Construction is anticipated to commence in mid-2025.
