PUNCH served as the Civil & Structural Designers and Lead Consultant for a chemical manufacturing and packaging plant project. They provided comprehensive Civil & Structural design from concept to completion, which included:
- Replacing concrete portals with new steel portal frames for 2 & 3 bay extensions.
- Removing asbestos cement sheets from the south building and replacing them with insulated profiled steel sheets by Metecno Bausysterme GmbH.
- Confirming that the existing water treatment system met new proposals after consultation with SEPA.
- Detailing surface water drainage in line with SUDS Manual principles and relevant regulations.
Trial pits revealed firm/stiff clay with a safe bearing pressure of 150kN/m², supporting the structure on concrete strip and pad foundations, along with a ground-bearing concrete slab.

We encourage staff members to maintain their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) accreditations with Engineers Ireland. We also continue to offer training in sustainable design and construction through seminars, in-house lectures, and external training programmes. We promote the achievement of professional titles with institutions such as Engineers Ireland, the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland, the Institute of Structural Engineers, and the Institute of Civil Engineers.
