Bertram Park Residential Development, Phase 3

The project involved the design of 7 new single storey dwellings of timber frame construction within a challenging site of steep terrain and poor ground conditions.

PUNCH Consulting were appointed to provide the following Structural Engineering services:
• Timber kit design for various house styles.
• Glulam portal frame designs.
• Suspended concrete slab construction.
• Deep trench fill foundations.
• S.E.R. Certification

Throughout the project, PUNCH Consulting demonstrated innovative problem-solving skills to address the complex challenges posed by the site’s unique characteristics.

To accommodate the steep terrain, the team employed advanced surveying techniques and careful planning to ensure each dwelling was optimally positioned. The use of timber frame construction provided a sustainable choice and allowed for flexibility in addressing the uneven landscape.

The glulam portal frames were designed to provide both structural integrity and aesthetic appeal, blending with the natural surroundings. The incorporation of suspended concrete slabs was a strategic decision to ensure stability over the poor ground conditions, while deep trench fill foundations offered additional support where needed.

PUNCH Consulting’s commitment to quality and safety was underscored by our adherence to standards, culminating in the successful acquisition of S.E.R. Certification.
